SANTO DOMINGO.- Representatives of Construexpo, the trade fair dedicated to the construction sector with more than three decades in the national market, offered yesterday, Wednesday, May 7, the details of this year's edition of the business meeting, which in its 2025 version will have the participation of six countries, in addition to local companies.
The Dominican Fiesta Hotel convention center in Santo Domingo will be the venue for the seventeenth edition of the exhibition, from May 15th to 17th, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, in a space that will bring together exhibitors and audiences interested in the offers present at the event.
At a meeting held yesterday with the media, it was explained that this year's version will feature innovative products and sustainable solutions that are transforming the construction industry.
The fair will feature companies that produce cement, flooring, blocks, paving stones, architectural finishes, paints, steel, software, finishing products, heavy earthmoving equipment, advanced piping systems, wood and wood products.

"Construexpo 2025 proudly celebrates that, for 35 years, it has been the leading trade fair in the construction sector in the Dominican Republic, where every two years the main national companies, entities that execute public infrastructure, guilds, universities and international companies of the construction industry meet to present their products and services to engineers, builders, professionals, students and the general public," said José Veras, president of Construexpo, during the press conference.
He explained that the construction sector is one of the industries that provides the most employment, both formal and informal; however, at this time it is important that the government implement fiscal measures that further incentivize the development of projects and the acquisition of homes.
"Construction in the Dominican Republic has been one of the largest contributors to GDP year after year, sometimes exceeding 5% and reaching up to 7%, thanks to investments made in both the public and private sectors; the private sector primarily through the development of housing projects and the construction of buildings for commercial use," he stated.
In his view, one of the main challenges for this industry is strengthening road infrastructure. "There are many areas of the country with low social and economic development because of a lack of highways, avenues, and access roads. It is important that the government include in its plans not only the major highways that are pending completion, but also avenues and local roads that connect communities to these major highways to move labor and production more efficiently and in less time. This improved mobility will bring with it the development of housing projects, among other works," he stated.
Exhibitors
He stated that this year's fair will feature 66 exhibitors linked to the construction sector. "With 29 international and 37 national companies, this edition surpasses previous ones, highlighting the importance of the construction sector beyond our borders.".
He emphasized that participants will have a varied and up-to-date offering of urban planning, architecture, building and construction works, among other aspects.
The first edition of Construexpo was in 1990. In the 2025 edition, in addition to the country, companies from the United States, Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, Spain and China will be present.
