Santo Domingo.- The operations and technology departments of the RD Vial Trust reported that the Paso Rápido services and cash payment services have been restored in all lanes of the Las Américas toll plaza.
The rapid intervention of the RD Vial technical teams resolved in record time the damage caused to the equipment by a lightning strike that hit the toll plaza on Saturday morning.
The director of RD Vial, Jean Luis Rodríguez, explained that "multiple technical units intervened at the station to respond efficiently and in a timely manner to restore a vital service on one of the country's main roads.".
"Our priority will always be ensuring that citizens receive excellent service. Our technological equipment is protected; however, the magnitude of a natural phenomenon can overwhelm human protection capabilities," Rodríguez said.
