AEI Mujeres launches, highlighting the role of women in the real estate sector

SANTO DOMINGO.- With a panel that brought together two generations of women in real estate to highlight their role in the sector, the AEI, Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies, presented yesterday AEI Women, a new department that will focus its work on enhancing the talent of the female population linked to real estate.

Teresa Pérez (Doña Tere), Candia Arias and Vanesa Castillo, two generations with three visions, analyzed before more than 100 women convened for the event, the role that women play today and the path they have had to travel to achieve their conquests.

Doña Tere, a veteran who has been linked to the real estate world for more than 30 years, understands that the recognition of women has been achieved through the knowledge they have acquired and the hard work they do every day.

She explained that in her time it was unthinkable that women could assume the leading role they hold today, highlighting the ability of the female population to connect with people's interests.

“We’ve gone from invisible to true leaders. But we have to step forward and tell people what we’re capable of,” said the experienced real estate agent.

For her part, Candia Arias, from Keller Williams Gold, explained that in her case, since entering the real estate world, she has always been valued and respected, while urging women to do what is necessary to achieve what they want.

Vanesa Castillo, from Punta Cana, highlighted the growth of women, citing their majority in classrooms as an example. She believes that women who get involved in any field are committed and always have plans.

She views the moment that the woman is experiencing as "solid", and invites them to continue projecting themselves and training.

Candia, for her part, understands that the moment women are experiencing is positive; she recognizes feminine sensitivity, her intuitive nature, her constant preparation, and her broad interests that lead her to obtain the position she desires.

For Teresa Pérez, women are the great leaders of the Dominican real estate sector. "We are more numerous, and more dedicated," she asserts, adding that their success is essential. She called on women in the sector to join the association and create their own businesses with clear and defined goals.

The act

A large group of representatives from various real estate firms, affiliated with the AEI, attended the meeting held at Spirit Coworking on Tiradentes Avenue, National District, an event held to commemorate International Women's Day this month.

AEI Mujeres is a space created to empower the female sector of real estate, explained Claudia Castillo, director of the new body, an appendage of the AEI, the entity that brings together the main Dominican real estate agents.

During the event, Lolita Suárez, a prominent coach, gave the lecture "Woman, discover the potential within you and dare to transform yourself," in which she spoke about the different types of leadership and the concept of what success represents.

He explained the fable of the three filters: truth, goodness, and necessity.
