SANTO DOMINGO. - The Dominican Association of Housing Builders and Developers (Acoprovi) stated this Monday that it is working to ensure that new regulations arising in the country do not negatively affect the growth and development of housing construction in the Dominican Republic.
"In terms of legislation and tax reform, Acoprovi's work in defending an updated regulatory framework and the sector's tax benefits was highlighted, working to ensure that new regulations do not negatively affect the growth and development of housing construction in the Dominican Republic," a press release states, referring to the events of the second National Housing Construction Forum, recently held and sponsored by the organization.
"During the discussion, the various strategies that Acoprovi, as a leader in the sector, maintains were addressed and discussed regarding the multiple challenges that housing construction currently faces, as well as promoting messages focused on how to identify and avoid fraud in the real estate market, aimed at educating the population," the association points out.
He added that the initiative is part of the Association's ongoing efforts to promote unified communication and strategy across the sector, raise housing development standards, and protect consumer housing interests.
The organization that brings together builders and other professionals related to the industry said that the meeting has become a fundamental pillar for the vision and perspectives of the housing real estate sector in the Dominican Republic.
He explained that the activity, which brought together various guilds in the sector, served as a stage to elevate Acoprovi's strategy of informing the sector and the public about best practices and the prevention of real estate scams.

The event featured the participation of key partner organizations, such as the Cibao Association of Housing Developers and Builders (Aprocovici), the La Altagracia Association of Builders and Developers (ADECLA), and prominent representatives from various provinces in the eastern, northern, and southern regions of the country. The collaboration of these organizations and regional representatives reinforces the shared commitment to improving and professionalizing the housing construction and development sector in the country.
Annerys Meléndez, president of Acoprovi, highlighted the importance of these types of meetings in fostering a more informed, transparent, and secure sector. "Our mission is to educate both industry professionals and the public, providing them with the necessary tools to make informed and safe decisions in the real estate and housing construction sectors. This discussion is a significant step in that direction," she stated.
He said that Acoprovi thus reaffirms its commitment to leading initiatives that promote integrity and trust in the Dominican real estate market, anticipating a more solid and reliable future for housing and all of society.

In April of this year, the organization signed an agreement with the five main entities in the country's construction sector, with the aim of strengthening the industry and providing greater security for buyers and users.
