SANTO DOMINGO. – President Luis Abinader led the handover of 95 new apartments this Thursday in the Pablo Mella Morales II Residential complex in Pedro Brand, an action that directly benefits more than 380 people .
During the event, Housing Minister Carlos Bonilla stated: “Our goal is not only to deliver housing, but to deliver well-being, dignity and hope, so that together we can continue building a better future for our country,” the official affirmed.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Banco de Reservas, Leonardo Aguilera , described the handover of the new apartments in the Pablo Mella Morales II project watershed moment . He also emphasized that this day represents a significant achievement for 95 of the more than 400 families that Banco de Reservas is financing within this project, following President Abinader's instructions to support access to decent housing for more Dominicans.
“This act is much more than a simple event; it signifies the celebration of hope, effort, and the union of wills that have made it possible for us to be here today achieving our goals,” he expressed.
Rafael Emilio Bisonó Pacheco , project manager of Constructora Bisonó , highlighted that they are concluding the project with the satisfaction of a job well done and the recognition of the housing policy implemented by President Abinader's government to promote access to decent housing and benefit low-income families.
The residential complex, covering an area of 33,800 square meters, comprises 160 apartments in total, each with three bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony, and laundry area. It also features parking and access to common areas including a gazebo, green spaces, and children's play areas.
The total investment for the urban development project amounts to RD 359 million , of which RD 277 million corresponds to the contribution from the private sector and RD 82 million to the contribution subsidized by the Government.
Among the amenities near the residential complex inaugurated this Thursday are educational centers, main roads and a Diagnostic and Primary Care Center, which guarantees optimal conditions for the well-being of the beneficiary families.
Those attending the event included the governor of Santo Domingo province, Lucrecia Leyba ; the mayor of the municipality of Pedro Brand, Ramón Pascual Gómez ; the director of the municipal district of La Guáyiga, Mirtha Elena Pérez ; the director of Community Development, Modesto Guzmán; and the director of the National Housing Fund (Fonvivienda), John Anderson.
