A luxury mini-hotel with a private lake to connect with nature

The Live Oak Lake project was launched by accountant and real estate developer Isaac French. The young man had a clear idea in mind: to bring modern Scandinavian-style housing to Texas. So, in early 2021, he decided to acquire the land and make his project a reality.

In the heart of Texas lies a little Scandinavian oasis: the Live Oak Lake mini-hotel. Despite being less than a year old, it's quickly becoming a local sensation. Cabins straight out of a fairytale, but with a modern twist, a lake visible from the living room, and every imaginable amenity are at guests' disposal. Just a few pictures make it easy to see why it's gaining so much popularity

What was once a 2,000-square-meter plot of land was transformed into the Live Oak Lake mini-hotel, seven cabins situated around a lake that gives the place its name and much of its charm. It was built from scratch, as the land was vacant. It took nine months to construct everything from the artificial lake to the access roads and the installation of utilities such as water and electricity.

Live Oak Lake has been very well received and has already raised approximately €500,000 in bookings since its opening day in January 2022.

A testament to the excellent reception it's receiving from the public is its occupancy rate, which is typically between 90 and 95%. Therefore, finding a room at Live Oak Lake isn't always easy. Furthermore, the majority of bookings (70%) are made directly through its official website.

The Live Oak Lake project was conceived as a wellness oasis for its guests. Seven cabins surround a lake, with a dock for water sports and other recreational activities. Picnic tables are also available, perfect for enjoying a special moment in the warmth of the afternoon or under the stars.

What is the Live Oak Lake mini-hotel like?

The moment you step inside, you'll find tranquility and a peaceful atmosphere for guests to relax and enjoy the facilities: a small dock, picnic tables, water sports activities, and a natural setting full of trees and grass.

From a bird's-eye view, you can see the layout of the Live Oak Lake mini-hotel, with a lake at its center and cabins scattered around it. Forest Edge, Cedar Brook, and White Rock are the most secluded, for those seeking more privacy. Meanwhile, Lakeside North, Lakeside South, Lakeside East, and Shadow Bend are located on the lake shore.

The seven cabins share the same design. Each one has two floors with rooms divided between them, as well as enormous windows that let in natural light.

The cabins feature an open-plan kitchen, two bedrooms, and a living room, and are equipped with a washer and dryer. The design is inspired by Scandinavian style, with neutral colors, a cozy atmosphere, and plenty of natural light.

The exterior also clearly reflects Nordic architecture, with its large V-shaped roofs and wood as the primary building material. Large windows offer stunning views to guests, especially those staying in the cabins along the lake.

What does each cabin include?

The cabins feature a parking space, an outdoor hot tub, a hammock, and even a fire pit. Everything you need for a truly enjoyable experience, allowing you to make the most of both the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Although these are luxury cabins, equipped with every comfort and top-quality materials, Live Oak Lake aims to make visitors feel like they're in a small town. It's the perfect balance between modern amenities and the experience of immersing oneself in nature, with only a few neighbors nearby with whom guests can interact, if they wish, during their stay.

The experience of connecting with nature

During the day, the views are a natural spectacle: trees, grass, paths, and the lake. In the warmer months, you can enjoy the sunshine and the soft feel of the grass. Winter brings a touch of magic with its snow and the soft, seasonal lighting, creating a romantic atmosphere. And at night, the starry sky takes center stage.

At Live Oak Lake, you can take advantage of all the amenities the cabins offer, such as picnic areas and a hot tub. But the lake also offers opportunities for water sports, like kayaking or paddleboarding.

How much does a night at Live Oak Lake cost?

There's little difference in price between the cabins; generally, a night at Live Oak Lake will cost around €300 on weekdays. This price can increase by almost €200 for weekend stays. However, this will largely depend on the time of year and whether it's peak season.

The Live Oak Lake project was launched by accountant and real estate developer Isaac French. The young man had a clear idea in mind: to bring modern Scandinavian-style housing to Texas. So, in early 2021, he decided to acquire the land and make his project a reality. The move couldn't have worked out better.
