Tunnels and overpasses in Greater Santo Domingo closed this week for maintenance

SANTO DOMINGO.-Since last Monday, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications has been carrying out maintenance work on the various grade separations (including overpasses, tunnels and bridges) in Greater Santo Domingo.

The closing hours will be from ten o'clock at night to five in the morning, a task that will be extended until next Saturday, October 22nd. 

The work to be carried out includes sweeping and collection of aggregates, collection of solid waste, weed control, general cleaning of the surroundings and drainage, pressure washing of walls, interior areas, and in some cases electrical work.

Today's events, Wednesday

Today, Wednesday, the following projects are being carried out: the Ortega y Gasset and 27 de Febrero overpasses; the Kennedy and Máximo Gómez overpasses; the Ortega y Gasset and UASD tunnels; the Kennedy and Ortega y Gasset and Doctor Defilló overpasses; and the Ozama bridge.

Tomorrow, Thursday, there will be closures on the overpasses of the Sánchez highway with Independencia (kilometer 12); Expreso Quinto Centenario with Duarte Avenue; Quinto Centenario with Hermanos Pinzón; the overpass of Konrad Adenauer Avenue (Charles de Gaulle) with Hermanas Mirabal; Jacobo Majluta with Guaricano entrance, and the Luperón bridge with the 30 de Mayo highway.

For Friday, the closures include the bridges of the 6 de Noviembre highway; Sánchez highway; Ramón Matías Mella; Francisco del Rosario Sánchez; the overpasses of the Duarte highway with Los Beisbolistas avenue (Manoguayabo), and Duarte with Monumental (entrance to Los Girasoles); the underpass of Padre Castellanos with Francisco del Rosario Sánchez (dry bridge), and the Luperón bridge with 30 de Mayo.

On Saturday, the following overpasses will be closed: Prolongación 27 de Febrero with Autopista 6 de Noviembre (dry bridge); kilometer 14 of the Autopista Duarte (dry bridge); San Vicente de Paul with Venezuela (dry bridge).
