The Digna Reynoso era at passport offices has ended; Abinader appoints David Lorenzo Uribe

SANTO DOMINGO.- After a period characterized by complaints and endless lines of users to carry out the document application process, Digna Reynoso's management of the Passport Directorate concluded yesterday, Sunday, after a year and a half in which public dissatisfaction did not cease, while the official insisted on ignoring the crisis existing in the department she directed.

Reynoso replaced Néstor Julio Cruz Pichardo in January of last year, who was also dismissed amid a commotion over the lack of passport issuance books, an essential requirement for traveling abroad.

Through decree 314-24, made public yesterday afternoon, although it is dated June 7, industrial engineer Lorenzo David Ramírez Uribe was appointed as general director of Passport, while Reynoso was named as executive director of the National Council of Presidential Management.

Uribe worked in the management of the Dominican Institute of Quality (Indocal).

The change comes after numerous complaints from users regarding delays in services provided by the General Directorate of Passports. When recently questioned by reporters about the issue, the president responded that the situation "would improve.".

The new director

David Ramírez Uribe is an industrial engineer specializing in productivity and quality management at the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (Intec). He has extensive knowledge, certifications, and experience in the area of quality.

In addition, he is an expert in the "CAPA Corrective and Preventive Actions" system and is an expert in Lean Manufacturing, a philosophy aimed at optimizing and improving the production process.

He has worked as a consultant for SMEs for the implementation of the Quality Management System and preparation for ISO certification, a position in which he evaluated processes, applied improvements and developed Manufacturing companies throughout the supply chain, Listín Diario highlights today.

This is the first move made by President Abinader in his cabinet after being re-elected as president on May 19.
