SANTO DOMINGO.-The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close various structures in Greater Santo Domingo, including overpasses and bridges, from Monday, February 26th until Saturday, March 2nd, in order to carry out maintenance work.
In all cases, closing times range from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following day.
The work to be done includes solid waste collection, sweeping and aggregate collection, weed control, general cleaning and drainage, among others.
Maintenance will be carried out on the underpass at the intersection of 27 de Febrero Avenue and Máximo Gómez Avenue this Monday and Thursday.
Also on Monday, the underpass at the intersection of Núñez de Cáceres and George Washington avenues, the overpass on 27 de Febrero Avenue, and the Juan Bosch and Juan Pablo Duarte bridges will be closed.
While this Wednesday the closures are due to the underpasses of the avenues 27 de Febrero with Doctor Defilló, Carmen Mendoza de Cornielle, Núñez de Cáceres and Privada, marginal Las Américas avenue; the overpasses of the John F. Kennedy avenue with Lope de Vega, Tiradentes and Abraham Lincoln.
Also in the tunnels of the Las Américas and Núñez de Cáceres marginal roads.
On Thursday, the closures correspond to the overpasses of 27 de Febrero and John F. Kennedy avenues with Ortega y Gasset, Las Américas marginal with Estados Unidos avenue, and the grade-separated crossings of 27 de Febrero avenues with Máximo Gómez; John F. Kennedy with Máximo Gómez avenue, Juan Carlos bridge (dry bridge), Charles de Gaulle and Las Américas marginal with Ecológica.
On Friday, the closure will be on the overpasses of the Jubey – Boca Chica and Santo Domingo – Samaná highways, the overpasses of the Las Américas highway with José Francisco Peña Gómez streets, 7, 6, Route 66, Puerto de Caucedo road, Hípica avenue and with entrance to Andrés, Boca Chica.
Electrical maintenance work will also be carried out in the control centers of the Ortega y Gasset, Las Américas, and Avenida 27 de Febrero tunnels between Lincoln and Churchill.
On Saturday, March 2nd, there will be closures at the overpasses on the Expreso Quinto Centenario with Tunti Cáceres and Peña Batlle streets, and on Máximo Gómez Avenue with Nicolás de Ovando.
