OPRET clarified that the rest of the Integrated Metro-Cable Car Transport System will operate normally.
SANTO DOMINGO– The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET) informed Santo Domingo Metro users today of the suspension of service at the Joaquín Balaguer and Centro de los Héroes stations due to scheduled annual maintenance.
In a press release, the agency explained that the partial suspension will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this Tuesday, February 27.
OPRET specified that, as it does every year, it will take advantage of the holiday commemorating National Independence Day to carry out the maintenance at these stations, since demand for the service is lower on this date.
Service will be suspended at the Joaquín Balaguer station near Avenida Máximo Gómez and at the Centro de los Héroes station near the corner of Avenida Jiménez Moya and Avenida Independencia, the final destination of Line 1.
OPRET also emphasized that this maintenance work is part of the institution's commitment to ensuring safe and efficient service for Dominicans. The institution appreciates the understanding of the public who use this transportation system daily.
