In Punta Cana, La Altagracia province, President Luis Abinader led the inauguration last Thursday of the Secrets Tides Punta Cana Resort & Spa Hotel, a luxury property with an adults-only concept, which has 668 rooms and generates some 2,435 direct and indirect jobs.
The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, who accompanied the president during the event, highlighted the current state of tourism in the Dominican Republic, noting that 5.9 million tourists have arrived to date and that the figure is expected to reach 6.7 million by the end of July.
Collado stated that it is expected that this year the record of 10 million tourists will be broken, with 11.5 million visitors.
During the event, Daniel Hernández, Vice President of Operations for the Dominican Republic and Colombia at Hyatt Inclusive Collection, expressed that it is an exciting moment for Hyatt Inclusive Collection, as it continues to strengthen its presence and experience rapid growth throughout the Latin America and Caribbean region.
Meanwhile, businessman Álvaro Peña, owner of Secrets Tides Punta Cana, said that what has been achieved at Secrets Tides is the result of hard work, accumulated experience, and a coherent relationship for the creative effort of the public and private sectors in the country.
The project took two years to build, with an investment of US$190 million.
It has seven bars, including a contemporary sports bar , and nine gourmet à la carte dining options , such as the Mediterranean restaurant Meraki, Portofino and Tierra, among others.
Its executives highlighted that the resort has modern spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology and all the necessary amenities that make them perfect for weddings, corporate meetings, conferences, and other social and professional events.
