Pedro Guzmán: From introversion to leadership development through sales coaching

SANTO DOMINGO –Pedro Guzmán was born in Santiago de los Caballeros, the second largest city in the Dominican Republic. From a young age, he always had the essential support of his family. He had a home, food, and education.

However, when it came to leisure, he had to learn to earn his own money. If he wanted to go to the movies on a weekend, he had to make that money.

This reality drove him to constantly seek an economic path that would allow him to generate resources throughout his life.

Business was always his great passion. However, Pedro was aware of the weaknesses that held him back: he was introverted and lacked communication skills. This led him to experience two bankruptcies.

At the age of 33, back in 2015, he embarked on a new journey in his professional life. He started a job that led him to become a sales executive. This new opportunity allowed him to discover the true secret of selling professionally.

Pedro Guzmán, a sales coach, recounted that his boss discovered the skill he had developed during that time. This opened the door to a new phase: forming, training, and developing teams of over 200 sales agents.

“At that time I realized that by helping others I was really helping myself because that's how I began to discover my purpose,” he said in an interview with El Inmobiliario.

Today, after five years of offering consulting services, he stated that what he is most passionate about in his profession is being able to empower others, be a channel for the transfer of knowledge, and move people forward with the power of communication.

And yes, achieving it through communication, that same aspect that in his life was an obstacle, but which today has become a skill that transforms others.

Her education began in Business Administration. Later, she completed postgraduate studies in Marketing. She then earned two international certifications: one in Leadership for Managers from the Dale Carnegie Institute and another in Advanced Negotiation and Sales Strategies from Cardone University.

During his years in practice, he has directed his services to business owners, entrepreneurs, and independent professionals, especially within the real estate sector, without knowing the reason for this predisposition.

What every real estate agent should know about sales

The expert in leadership and personal growth also addressed five sales tips that can be applied within the real estate market by its agents.

According to him, the first thing is to develop a "positively charming" attitude, because he maintains that people buy people.

The second piece of advice he offered was about exposure. “What isn’t displayed, doesn’t sell,” he emphasized. “You can have the best property or project, but if people don’t know about it, it’s worthless,” he pointed out.

Another key aspect is the coordinated integration of digital marketing strategies with offline sales efforts. According to the expert, this combination optimizes the customer experience and facilitates building a relationship of trust.

To talk about the next tip, about the importance of having a growth plan, he clung to a famous quote from Warren Buffett: A fool with a plan can beat a genius without one.

Finally, he stated that real estate agents must constantly evolve, as the real estate sector is in constant change.

Years dedicated to training sales leaders

Pedro Guzmán has extensive experience in sales coaching, having trained over 20,000 students throughout his years of work.

His workday begins around four or five in the morning, and he considers his work his lifestyle. Such is his passion for what he does that he stated he would be willing to offer his mentorships free of charge, something he has already done on several occasions.

The strategies that have yielded the greatest results for him, and thus allowed him to advance in his career, have been lead generation, automation, and the personal brand he builds through the trust he generates.

He added that his growth has been driven by the mentors who have accompanied him along the way and by his commitment to continuous training, which he has integrated as a fundamental pillar in his professional development.

The team surrounding Pedro Guzmán consists of 10 key professionals. These include a marketing coordinator, a podcast editor, two filmmakers, and a social media management team.

The values that define their approach are clear: fraternity, empowerment, results orientation, and transcendence.

"The shortest distance between point A and point B is not a shortcut... it's a mentor," Guzmán states emphatically when talking about how he can accompany a real estate agent during his consultation.

Their approach is based on guiding real estate professionals to shorten their learning curve efficiently, optimizing both time and financial resources and efforts.
