Banco Santa Cruz provides training on money laundering prevention

SANTO DOMINGO.– For the sixth consecutive year, Banco Santa Cruz organized the Money Laundering Prevention Week, offering its employees a series of activities focused on training, awareness, and recognition regarding Law 155-17, which regulates Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism in the country.

During the month of November, the financial entity developed specialized sessions with the participation of the following speakers such as Aileen Guzmán, general director of the Financial Analysis Unit (UAF), who presented the topic "Advances of the Dominican Republic in the Prevention of Money Laundering FT/PADM."

Likewise, José E. De Pool, AML PLAFT director of the Superintendency of Banks (SIB), who presented the virtual conference entitled: “The regulator facing PLAFT and how business lines can cooperate with its role” and Robert Mustafá, expert in the prevention of money laundering with the topic “Why is it important to know the Ultimate Beneficial Owner?”.

In addition to these conferences, Banco Santa Cruz employees had the opportunity to test their acquired knowledge through training sessions, trivia games, and various interactive activities, according to a press release.
