Leveraging technology to help real estate agents grow?

Courted launches the first professional network based on data in the real estate sector in Miami.

Courted ( courted.io ), based in Soho, NYC, offers the first professional network for residential real estate.

Real estate is about people, and no one understands this better than the agents who form the heart of the residential real estate industry. The team at Courted believes that if agents have access to better data and better tools, they can spend less time searching and more time connecting.

Using data from Multiple Listing Services and a variety of other real estate and other data sources, it has created a platform that provides agents with live updated profiles, including their production history, awards based on their individual specialties, and market data and analysis that are updated in real time and can be exported to easy-to-read reports.

Courted has experienced impressive attraction in just a few weeks since its launch in Miami and currently boasts high-profile users, such as #1 agent and team: Dora Puig, of Luxe Living Miami brokerage .

Courted also has an Advisory Board, which includes forward-thinking agents in real estate and technology such as Mark Zilbert , who recently left Brown Harris Stevens to launch Zilbert in Miami Beach and Asheville, North Carolina.

Courted has listened to and learned from the questions, comments, and ideas of its early members and Advisory Board to create tools and features that appeal to agents across the production spectrum, from emerging agents working hard to grow their business to the highest-producing teams in the Miami area.

For leading agents and teams focused on accelerating business growth, Courted's data-driven profiles provide the most accurate and relevant information. Courted then leverages these profiles to create the best platform for agents to discover and connect with each other, which works particularly well for team building and referrals.

As Courted grows, the team is also creating proprietary matching algorithms to help agents find the right business partners for them: think all the functionality and fun of the best dating app you've ever used, but backed by high-quality data and intelligent matching, allowing agents to save time while developing more valuable recruiting and referral relationships.

For emerging agents looking to build their businesses from the ground up, Courted provides the tools to become experts. Agents can stay up-to-date with real-time market heat maps and statistics, troubleshooting issues and answering questions live with their clients.

Courted also allows agents to export that data to customizable, branded, and easy-to-use market reports that they can send to current and potential clients.

Agents rarely know what they excelled at last month because other tools focus on property-level information rather than competitive intelligence and benchmarking for agents. To address this, Courted's modern, agent-centric data platform features agent awards based on monthly and annual production achievements. These awards are based on various statistics, property types, and locations, so many more agents can be recognized for their individual specialties—not just the top 100 nationally in overall production volume.

Courted was founded by an experienced team from the fields of real estate brokerage and software development who have worked closely together for several years.

Sean Soderstrom (CEO) was an associate partner and co-leader of McKinsey's residential real estate practice and built and scaled the expansion function at Compass, launching and managing its first 40 offices outside of New York between 2013-2017.

Dan Breitbach (CTO) led software development and data science practice for McKinsey's Financial Services and Real Estate groups, and Joe Urciuoli (Head of Engineering) helped build several startups within some of the country's most prolific real estate organizations at McKinsey.

Given his experience scaling Compass and working closely with top agents across the country, Soderstrom believes Courted can better facilitate agent growth through a much-needed digital community.

“Having worked in this space for many years, we are confident that agents are here to stay and will continue to be fundamental to residential transactions. However, the dominant software products in the industry are typically focused on the property owner and the consumer. As a result, Courted has the opportunity to create a differentiated product experience that facilitates delightful and intuitive discovery and connection between agents, as well as between brokers and the consumers they work with. We are seeing this translate into a significant economic benefit for agents using Courted.”.

Courted recently completed a $2 million oversubscribed pre-seed funding round, with investment from New York-based Lakehouse Ventures and several senior partners from McKinsey’s technology and real estate practices. David Snider, former COO and CFO of Compass and current CEO of Harness Wealth, is an active advisor to Courted.

This investment adds to Lakehouse's real estate technology portfolio, which includes pre-seed and several post-seed investments in the security deposit innovator Rhino.

John Neamonitis, founder and general partner of Lakehouse Ventures, believes that Courted's vision and unique approach can have a major impact on how professionals and consumers connect:

“Courted’s leadership team brings together a group that has not only worked together in the past, but also deeply understands the business and technical elements of the product they are building. Getting to know them before our investment, it was clear that their expertise was uncommon and they were building for a customer segment they knew exceptionally well.”.

Courted will use these funds to scale its engineering, product, and growth teams and accelerate the company's national expansion.

Courted 's mission is to use technology to empower agents to grow their businesses. The Courted team believes that with better tools, agents can accelerate the process of identifying, researching, and connecting with the right people to fit their needs, whether that's connecting them with other agents for recruitment or referrals, or with a customer whose needs align perfectly with that agent's unique expertise.

Ultimately, residential real estate is about people making difficult, emotional, and impactful decisions—not just whether to buy or sell a home, but also choosing a home. The Courted team believes agents are an integral part of this process. Through best-in-class data, predictive analytics, and deep expertise in residential real estate, Courted can empower agents to not only be authentic, but to showcase their authenticity and grow their business simultaneously.

Courted's product is available in South Florida and will soon expand to Southern California, Colorado, and other major regions of the country.

Agents in South Florida can register and claim their profile for free at courted.io , and agents nationwide can visit the website to be the first to know when Courted is available in their local market.
