SANTO DOMINGO.– The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that this Saturday, August 15, the floating bridge over the Ozama River will be closed to vehicular traffic for two hours to allow the passage of two vessels.
The closing time will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
During that time, the M/V WATER SPIRIT 2 vessel will be going up to the Joseph Industrial Development Corp. SRL Shipyard, and the R/M MIDGARD HUGO to the Malaca facilities.
"This information is issued in the interest of the general public, and specifically drivers of vehicles that regularly travel on the floating bridge, to take the necessary precautions if they have to do so during that time," the information states.
The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the closure, and calls on those traveling in vehicles through the area during that time to seek alternative routes, such as the Matías Ramón Mella, Juan Pablo Duarte and Juan Bosch bridges.
