My Housing program includes five projects in its first phase in Santo Domingo East, West, North and Santiago de los Caballeros
SANTO DOMINGO.- The fulfillment of President Luis Abinader's promise came to the community of San Luis, Santo Domingo East, this Saturday, when the president announced during a visit the construction of 2,000 homes for its residents.
The project, which President Abinader says will begin next week, will feature two- and three-bedroom apartments. The two-bedroom units will be 52.30 square meters and include a parking space, bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony, and laundry area. The cost is 1.5 million lempiras, of which the government will subsidize 60% through the Ministry of Housing, Habitat, and Buildings (MIVHED).
The initial payment will be 5% (75,000.00), financing 35% (525,000.00), installments of RD$ 5,947.00, for 20 years with a fixed rate of 8% for the first 6 years. The Mi Vivienda portal states that families whose monthly income does not exceed RD$40,446.00 will apply.

The three-bedroom apartments will have 72.60 m2, a bathroom, living room, parking, dining room, kitchen, balcony, and laundry area. They will cost two million pesos, with a 50% state subsidy (1,000,000.00), a 7.5% down payment (150,000.00), 42.5% financing (850,000.00), monthly payments of RD$9,173.00, a 20-year repayment term, and a fixed interest rate of 8% for the first 6 years. Families with monthly incomes from RD$40,447.00 to RD$67,410.00 will be eligible.
The first phase of the Mi Vivienda program includes five projects. In addition to San Luis, it includes Santo Domingo Oeste (Hato Nuevo), Santo Domingo Norte (Ciudad Modelo), and Santiago (La Barranquita and Los Salados). The project anticipates the construction of 7,544 homes.
