SANTO DOMINGO.-Cementos Argos and Habitat for Humanity Dominican Republic announced the completion of the sixth stage of the Healthy Homes project, an initiative that has transformed the housing conditions of vulnerable families in the provinces of San Cristóbal and Santo Domingo Norte.
This strategic alliance enabled the intervention and improvement of 188 homes, directly benefiting 622 people. The work included floor renovations, roof repairs, and the construction or rehabilitation of bathrooms—actions that not only improved housing conditions but also strengthened the dignity and security of the communities.
In San Cristóbal, communities such as Boca de Nigua, Dios Dirá, Los Yagrumos, Miracielo, and Yogo Yogo were impacted, while in Santo Domingo Norte, residents of Jacagua, Los Casabes, and Mamey benefited, families who now enjoy safer and more dignified environments.
With this stage, Healthy Homes reaffirms its mission to generate sustainable changes, demonstrating that the union of efforts can transform communities in a tangible and lasting way.

About the Healthy Homes program
This program, implemented by Argos, aims to improve the housing and living conditions of families near its operations by repairing and upgrading floors, bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas. The company currently operates this initiative in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Panama, and Puerto Rico.
The cement company has been implementing the program in the Dominican Republic since 2014. Since then, through Healthy Homes, it has contributed to improving the living conditions of 2,000 people, who have been directly impacted by the intervention in 600 homes.
Since 2018, Argos Dominicana and Habitat for Humanity have worked side by side to contribute to reducing the qualitative housing deficit in the Dominican Republic and improving the health conditions of homes in the municipality of San Gregorio de Nigua, San Cristóbal province.
