Saudi Arabia is the king of 'gigantic' buildings because of its colossal tower over 1,000 meters high and the famous project to build The Line city.
But beyond these two ambitious projects, the country plans to build the 330-meter-tall 'Discovery Tower,' a crystalline structure designed by the British firm Zaha Hadid Architects. This skyscraper is "designed to be located on a mountaintop overlooking an artificial lake in the center of the Trojena development," and will also "contain observation decks and restaurants.".
But what will it be used for? This "iconic high-rise commercial tower that offers a rich platform for innovative and technology-filled artistic experiences and content" will be used for different purposes, serving as a ski resort, dining area, and high-end shopping center.
However, regarding its exact location, 'Discovery Tower' will be "part of the larger Trojena plan, which is being planned by the German studio LAVA Architects," and "will be located on the mountain opposite the ski resort - also designed by LAVA Architects - and will be connected to a series of lakeside hotels by a cable car," explains the architecture magazine Dezeen.

Saudi Arabia is working on a massive cube called the Muqab, measuring 400 meters high and 400 meters long, which will be built in Riyadh. This megastructure will have a cubic shape with a facade made up of overlapping triangles, will feature innovative technologies, offer two million square meters of commercial, hotel, and residential space, will be an immersive destination by blending digital and virtual technology, and its design is inspired by the Najdi.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia aims to dethrone the Burj Khalifa skyscraper by constructing a building over 1,000 meters tall called Jeddah. What is known about this construction is that it will be located near the Red Sea, occupy an area of over 530,000 square meters, and be over 1,000 meters long. The initial budget is estimated at $1.5 billion, and the final building is expected to be valued at $20 billion. Construction began over a decade ago, but there is still no completion date.
